The beef has left the building... sort of

So I get a call last night around 10:30 p.m.  It's my SIL.  They can do the do on Sat after all. My brother found other people to help coach.  (I found out he is the back up coach cause the regular coach is on call with the Fire Department and so can't leave town)   Anyways.  So I'm suprised because I hadn't even heard from my mother yet and was thinking screw them when I finally got the call.  My SIL managed to make it sound like it was always the possibility that they could have made other arrangements.  That is not what she said to me.

I'm still a little annoyed though.  Cause I had to do grocery shopping.  The plan had been to do it last night.  But no dinner, no need to shop.  So there I am at 11:00 p.m. last night going crap, the only day I have left to prepare is Saturday.

So today I get a call from my mom making sure that they had told me dinner was back on.  She figured they changed their plans because they both new she was annoyed with them.  Guess she got all grumpy with them yesterday, then suddenly they are jumping through hoops changing the plans.  My brother did not think it was a big deal to reschedule.  Which in essence it's not really, if they could have given us a firm date to reschedule to.

Turns out my mom's lack of response when I was talking to her was her annoyance about the whole thing.  Like me she felt that they could have made an effort because we reschedule lots of things around their life AND she also is aware that my brother blows off hockey himself on Friday nights lots.

I feel sorry for my SIL because big brother basically tried to slough it off on her that she didn't really tell him to recently about the dinner etc.  When I've been trying to plan something with them for the past 2 months.

Anyways, dinner is back on and I'm happy about it.  I just hope everyone is happy and not too pouty about the whole thing.    As I said to my mom... "We're having dinner and everyone is gonna like it or else."  *L*

Anyways, we're showing the house tomorrow afternoon.  I have more pictures from my craft project which is almost done so hopefully I can find some time to post them tomorrow.  I'm pretty pleased with the project.

  1. I'm so sorry! They are lucky to have a daughter/sister like you! It's hard when everyone has their head in a different place and working from a separate agenda. When my big anniversaries come I'll call you and we'll plan a big party together ;) Totally not the point, I know, but it's just sill enough that myabe it'll make you smile :)

  2. I hope it's a wonderful evening, no matter how rocky the road getting there. I also hope you can put aside your annoyance and frustration with the bil and sil, for your parents' sake. Your parents are lucky to have a daughter that cares so much, and I hope they realize that!
