I've done it. I submitted an article to a online newsletter and they've said they will definitely post my article. I am thrilled. So it doesn't pay anything, but who cares. Someone actually thought my article was articulate enough to use.
I have had second thoughts, however. Imagine putting your name to something that might, just might get read by people who know you. That is, after all, why this blog is completely anonymous. I can't stand the thought that someone might stumble upon my blog and figure out who I am. There are certain events described in here that are pretty much a calling card for anyone who actually knows us. Not hard to figure out. But anonymity is nice. I can be a total b***h and say whatever the hell I want without repercussions. Things I can't say to their faces. So it makes me sound like a not very nice person, but don't we all have a little inner bi***Iness in us?
Anyways, the article is about my husband. Timely for Father's day around the corner. While I do praise him in this article and am very proud that everyone will get to read about the kind and caring man I married, there is one teeny little sentence I'm a little apprehensive about. Especially as my name will be tagged to the article. I cringe at the thought of someone I know reading it. In the article requirements, they said to make the article light and cheery and a little sex in the city-ish. So I added the one line.
"And in the bedroom.... let's just say I always get my turn."
What man wouldn't be thrilled knowing that their wife is bragging about that. I can just see the faint blush and smug little smile when he reads that on his face right now.
Now I know that's pretty tame but in our circle we just don't talk about stuff like that. Do you think I'll want my mother to read that? Maybe once I've edited it out. Anyways, it's done now and I am just waiting for May to pass so I can get the newsletter and see my article in it. Hopefully, no one we know will read it. But hey, if my husband gets his little ego boost, that's all that counts and just colour me crimson. :)
